I see the world around me happening as movie scenes
– as a chain of coincidences.

The psychological drama of the everyday life is my starting point to create images, sound and narrations. My work explores love and its many forms – sexual love, contemporary liquid love, abusive love, family love – all in which relationships, emotions and the lightness of life become important subjects. I try to map a rainbow of internal landscapes where love merges with loneliness, mental collapse and violation. My work is psychological, theoretical, autobiographical, fictional and confessional. It becomes a fusion of fiction and reality. It takes the shape of an interdisciplinary practice where I take the role of the director of scenes to place the spectator – you – to play the main character in the artwork. Drawn on personal experiences, which I transform into a theatrical experience, my art works grow one upon the other.

I have exhibited internationally in various places including at the Finnish Museum of Photography, UGM Maribor Art Gallery, Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen, Benaki Museum in Athens, Kalmar Konstmuseum, Art Center Mältinranta in Tampere, Helsinki Kunsthalle, Oslo Kunstforening, amongst others. I have participated in the Turku Biennial, the Estonian Photographic Art Fair and festivals such as Encontros da Imagem in Braga, Belfast Photo Festival and Artefiera in Bologna. My first book What Love Weighs was published in 2015. In 2016 my artist's book Spatial Practices was nominated for the Nordic Dummy Award in Oslo and the Unseen Dummy Award in Amsterdam. I gain my Bachelor of Art degree at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague and I graduated as a Master of Arts from the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture.

In addition to my artistic practice I work with commissioned photo productions and have a background in fashion and visual communication. I am one of the team members behind Photobooks from Finland, a project that aims to promote and archive Finnish photobooks and publications. Also I am a board member of the National Council for Diversity in the Arts, which covers the fields of multidisciplinary arts and cultural diversity at the Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
